1) Pull strings
Meaning : If somebody pulls strings, they use influential friends in order to obtain an advantage.

e.g. "Maimum found a job easily as her father just pulled a few strings!"

2) Keep someone posted
Meaning : If a person asks you to keep them posted, they want you to keep them informed about a situation

e,g, "My friend, Johan promised to keep me posted on the developments in the negotiations of the project."
