Adjectives

What are adjectives?
1) words that are used to clarify a noun.

2) can be one word or a group of words.

3) sometimes used with certain verbs (such as the verb "to be" - 'am', 'is', 'are', 'was', 'were').
- used to clarify the subject that is doing the action.

4) to describe color, material, shape, size, amount, price, quality, origin, personality, weight, temperature, weight, age, direction, etc.

Uses of Adjectives
1) placed before the noun.
2) can be used with all forms of nouns
Examples:
a) Adjectives with nouns:
(i) My mother is a beautiful woman.
(ii) John is driving an expensive car.
(iii) Father bought me a new notebook.
b) Adjectives with verbs:
(i) The principal is strict but kind.
(ii) That storybook is very interesting.
